Dawkins’ presents an account of the history of evolutionary theory prior to Wallace and Darwin independently proposing the origin of species by natural selection. He describes the extraordinary grace exhibited by both Wallace and Darwin on their exchanges that established Darwin’s primacy in establishing the theory.
